Our annual Employee of the Year ceremony took place at Longbridge Social Club on 9 December 2015.

It's not just Ring and Ride drivers that are recognised but all members of staff who are part of the wmsnt group that have gone the extra mile in their duties and for outstanding customer service.

All employees are automatically entered and have points awarded or deducted relative to areas of their daily performance at work, i.e. attendance, attitude and appearance.

Each depot provides a winner who then goes into the next round where they are subjected to a test in their area of the business.

There are five categories of awards:

• Ring and Ride Driver of the Year
• Education Driver of the Year
• igo Driver of the Year
• Non-driver of the Year
• Call Centre Operative of the Year

Selected passengers from each depot are invited to attend along with members from local authorities, Centro, suppliers but more importantly organisations that we provide a service to.

Board members representing the companies that make up the wmsnt Group are also in attendance.

Entertainment this year was provided by pupils from Victoria School who got everyone in the audience into the festive spirit with their Christmas songs. This was followed by Music in Motion who sing songs through sign language.

Each winner takes home £200 in vouchers, a crystal gift and their depot holds the relevant cup for the next twelve months. Runners up receive a crystal gift and certificate.
